Dear Darya
Gah. I am such an idiot. If i didn't double confirm the flight, we would have missed it thinking it's tomorrow! Thank god for my instinct, we are flying tonight. That also means, I am rushing from work to get whatever I need before heading out to the airport later on. *rolls eyes back to the brain*
So I heard the weather will be between 10-17degree throughout our stay there. Because there are so much I could do and remember, I forgot about your mittens and actually just ordered it last week at Etsy! The mittens are still not here yet and I couldn't help hating myself for this. I want mittens because of your four fingers, it would fit awkwardly in a 5 fingered glove. But gaaaaaaaaaaaah, I could have just grabbed any gloves and cut off one finger and sew it back! *slap my forehead hard* No time for regrets Erda, it's ok, I did all that I could.
I made some reminders and to do list (attached within the blog) but kept stalling. For a few weeks, I kept pulling clothes out and putting them back. It was a horror. A mess. I could not decide. I didn't know where to start! I don't want to overpack nor do I want you running buck naked because your Umi decides not to bring extra clothings for you. Finally I decided to just make a mental picture of what you would be wearing on a day to day basis; 3 outfit changes plus your PJs. Immediately note them down before I forget.
I don't want to risk underpacking your diapers BUT if they do run short, there's always grocery shops nearby BUT there's another risk that we might not get it soooooo, I play safe. 5 diapers a day.
Your Trunki was the first to be packed. We got it all ready last 2 weeks ago. We only started packing a few days back for Aby & Umi's. Iron and pack them nicely in a ziplock bag. Saves more space that way.
From the last experience on-board from Perth to Singapore you had a diaper leak and it soaked me wet through my jeans even after I changed you before boarding. Due to air pressure, shit happens. So I am prepared this time round we will be bringing a separate small foldable bag just for diaper (listed below) and stash it under our seat for easy access. I am also packing her Milo packet drink and some snacks and armed with our life saviour, the IPad. We will be buying you a small gift as a distraction at the airport later. Surprise!
Sure feels like packing for the army ey?
So right, a summary. 3 previous flights taken doesn't make me a pro. All flight experiences were different plus this time round, we will be taking a 13 hour flight. Le gasp.
-Before flight day, I have been prepping you up like a cheerleader mother that I am. 'Darya, where are we going? *extends arm out and pretend to fly* Yes! We are going on an airplane! Yey!! Are you excited?? Yey!' On good days, you mimicked my movement and say "aiii-plan", some days you ignored me -_-
-Ziplock bags. Good to stash dirty clothes and lock away that smellymellies just in case.
-Babywipes, babywipes, babywipes.
-Bring a boob *points at self* for take off and landing purposes hahhaha.
-Of course being the OCD Umi, I made sure I changed the bedsheets, clean the room, fold all laundry so I won't come home extra tired to a messy house.
What else? What else? I guess I got everything covered, I hope.
We are flying on an overnight flight and I do hope you get some shut eye so we can as well. Otherwise, *gulps down 1 carton of Redbull* I am ready! I am ready! *pumps fist on chest*
Will update how 13 hours go.
I am yours to keep
Your Umi should be in the military
